Nigerians defy recession, storm ATMs for Christmas withdrawal but are left stranded

Nigerians on Friday, December 23, besieged ATM points to make last minute withdrawal and shopping ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebration.

However, it was gathered that the hopeful citizens were faced with the stress of long queues, and were left disappointed following the inability of the ATM machines to dispense cash.

For instance, in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital, it was learnt residents made final rush to ATMs in a bid to stock their homes with food items.

But their hopes were shattered with the ATM machines refusing to dispense cash.

Following the development, eye brows have now been raised, as some are wondering if there is cash crisis in the banks.
