Diego Simeone has taken a step to becoming Arsene Wenger’s successor as the Argentine reduced his contract with Atletico Madrid by two years.

The Gunners board have tipped the highly-rated Roji Blancos boss as the ideal candidate for Wenger when his contract expires in 2017.
