Trump: PDP calls for mutual relationship with Nigeria

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the president -elect of the United States of America (USA), Mr. Donald Trump, to urgently formulate policies that would ensure a mutually beneficial relationship between the US and Nigeria.

The party also urged the president-elect to move quickly to heal the divides created by pre-election campaign.
PDP in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye on Wednesday, noted that this is the time Nigeria and US “must work harder to deepen mutual security and economic interests.”
It further called on Trump to reassure all Americans, particularly its minorities, that his administration would pursue policies and programmes that protect and promote their constitutional rights and freedoms.

“The campaign that preceded these elections has been hard fought, and sometimes fractious campaign, in a manner that has taken its toll on the American people,” the statement observed.
While it congratulated Trump on his victory ‎”against many odds,” PDP commended his rival, Mrs. Hillary Clinton on her hard fought campaign, noting that she‎ “showed herself as a role model for young men, women and children everywhere around the world.”
